South African Ambassador to Speak on Technology and Democracy

event20150706_1.jpgThe Ambassador of South Africa to Japan, Her Excellency Mohau Pheko, will give a special lecture at Tohoku University on July 7.

The lecture, titled "Can Science and Technology Drive Development and Democracy?" will take place at the TOKYO ELECTRON House of Creativity on Katahira Campus.

Ambassador Pheko has been the South African Ambassador to Japan since 2012. She is actively engaged in projects promoting African social and economic development, as well as transitional strategies. In her role as ambassador, she has frequently spoken on international trade and globalization, human rights and gender equality.
