Graduate Studies and Career Development - A Global Perspective

What are the merits and challenges of studying abroad at graduate schools, and how does this help the goal of international career development? As an alumnus of Tohoku University, the speaker offers insights on graduate studies and career development, based on his experience of having studied and worked in English, French, and Russian language settings in the United States, Japan, the Russian Federation and Switzerland.

event20160620_2_1.jpgKazushige Kobayashi is an alumnus of Tohoku University who holds a Masters degree in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva. He has studied at the University of California at Davis/ UC Washington D.C. Center and Russian Foreign Ministry's Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and continues his doctoral studies at the Graduate Institute.

Kobayashi has worked for the International Rescue Committee in Washington, D.C., Columbia University's Institute for the Study of Human Rights in New York, the Mitsubishi Research Institute's Strategic Consulting Division in Tokyo, the Russian International Affairs Council in Moscow, and the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding in Geneva. He specializes in Eurasian politics and Russian foreign policy and has given a series of lectures at universities and expert talks on radio programs.
