The Tohoku University New Forest Jazz Orchestra is a big band formed in 2003. Big bands are a type of musical ensemble that originated in the USA. They typically perform Jazz, Funk and Latin music. The horn section is made of of the sax, trombone and trumpet. The rhythm section is made up of the piano, bass, guitar and percussion with a total of around 16~20 members performing together.
The Tohoku University New Forest Jazz Orchestra currently has 50 members from not only Tohoku University, but also neighbouring universities. This concert is a compilation of their performances over the last year.
