ArcDR3 Forum Vol.1: New Agendas for Regenerative Urbanism

The Architecture and Urban Design for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience (ArcDR3) initiative, will be hosting a forum on "New Agendas for Regenerative Urbanism" on June 27.

It is the first in a series of conferences and exhibitions by ArcDR3, a global partnership established in 2019 by xLAB at UCLA, IRIDeS at Tohoku University and Miraikan, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Japan.

Eleven major universities from regions with recurring risks of natural disasters have been invited to engage in a collaborative research studio, to explore new strategies for risk-resilient environments across the Pacific Rim.

There will be three panel discussions on "Regenerative Urbanism" around the themes of "Earth, Wind and Fire," "Water" and "Multi-hazard."

The event will also address the changes in learning environments and teaching processes that have been redefined by the global pandemic, and explore opportunities for participants to collaborate on a global scale through the ArcDR3 network.
