The Tohoku University Entrance Ceremony for Spring 2021 will be held on April 2. All newly enrolled undergraduate students are invited to attend in person at Kamei Arena Sendai.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, strict safety protocols will be in place and the event will be for new incoming undergraduate students only. Students will be required to show their "Notice of Acceptance" at the reception when they arrive at the arena.
Family and friends will not be allowed to attend the ceremony, and are strongly advised not to gather or wait outside the arena. A live broadcast of the ceremony will be available online.
Date: April 2, 2021,
Time: 10 a.m. (Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Please be seated by 9:40 a.m.)
Venue: Kamei Arena Sendai.
How to get there:
Kamei Arena Sendai, (aka Sendai City Gymnasium) is located at 1-4-1, Tomizawa, Taihaku-ku.
There is no public parking in the area so please take public transportation.
The nearest subway station is Tomizawa on the Nanboku / North-South line.
All attendees should be appropriately dressed for the ceremony and must adhere to the university's infection prevention measures, which include wearing a mask at all times and maintaining a safe physical distance from other people.
Students should not attend the ceremony if:
- - they are unwell or have a fever
- - they have been exposed to someone who is positive for COVID-19
- - they have not quarantined for 14 days after arriving in Japan from abroad
- - they have been in close contact with someone who has returned from abroad and not completed the 14-day quarantine
