Tohoku University's Institute for Materials Research (IMR) is recruiting an assistant professor to join its research group at the International Research Center on Nuclear Materials Science (IRC), based in Ibaraki Prefecture.
The successful candidate will be based at the Research Laboratory for Irradiation Effects in Nuclear and Their Related Materials. Successful candidates are expected to conduct experimental studies on radiation damage in nuclear materials such as light water, generation IV and fusion reactors, using novel microstructural techniques such as atom probe tomography, (scanning) transmission electron microscopy, and positron annihilation spectroscopy etc.
