AATUM meeting in October 2019

Tohoku University Alumni Association in Mongolia (AATUM) hosed a meeting in Ulaanbaatar on October 16, 2019. Professor Motoyuki Sato and Professor Hiroki Oka from the Center for Northeast Asian Studies at Tohoku University attended the meeting.

Currently, about 40 members are registered with AATUM, and the members are from organizations such as the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, the National University of Mongolian and the Mongolian State University of Education.

Roughly 15 members from AATUM attended the meeting, including AATUM's president, Ts. Darjaa. At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Sato expressed greetings from the Alumni Association of Tohoku University and wished them success in the meeting and AATUM.

During the meeting, Prof. Oka proposed forming greater cooperative links between the Center for Northeast Asian Studies and the National University of Mongolia. Dr. Ochir Oyunjargal from the Archeology and Anthropology Department of the School of Arts and Sciences at the National University of Mongolia will lead the cooperation efforts.
