Tohoku University has decided to provide financial aid of 50000 yen equally to international students with private means as an urgent supporting measure for international students.

In consideration of the situation that Privately Financed International Students are faced with due to a sharp climb of Yen and economic slowdown in home countries, Tohoku University has started providing following financial aid for international students to comfortably study at Tohoku University without worrying about economic situations.

1. With exclusion of Japanese Government Scholarship students,student sent by a foreign government, students exempted their tuition fees in Fiscal Year 2008, and students recieving another private scholarship which are more than 50000 yen a month, for privately financed international students who need financial aid, Tohoku University Provide 50000yen of financial aid equally as they apply.

2. This financial aid is once-and-for-all, and students being on the register at the time 31, March 2009 (except for students who will graduate the University in March 2009, however, who intend to enroll Graduate School and Undergraduate education are included) are eligible for this financial aid.
