Finding of common pairing symmetry in electron- and hole-doped iron-based high-temperature superconductors - A great step toward complete understanding of the superconducting mechanism -
The research group of Professor Takashi Takahashi at WPI Advanced Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University (WPI-AIMR), Assistant Professor Takafumi Sato at Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University, and Dr. Kensei Terashima, Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), has succeeded for the first time in directly determining the pairing symmetry of electron-doped iron-based high-temperature superconductors. The present finding provides a unified picture to explain the superconducting mechanism of iron-based superconductors.
The research result is published in "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS)"on the web as an early edition on April 9, 2009.
