Professor Yutaka Imai at Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku University was awarded 2009 Prevention Prize from Japan Heart Foundation
Professor Yutaka Imai at Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku University was awarded 2009 Prevention Prize from Japan Heart Foundation. The award ceremony will be held on June 5. This prize is awarded to groups or researchers whose community-based longtime contribution to cardiovascular disease prevention that is the major cause of death in Japan. They are also praised for successful cardiovascular disease control and academic research and development to prevent the disease. The reason to be awarded is Professor Imai’s 20-year Ohasama Study; cardiovascular disease prevention strategy based on home blood pressure and ambulatory blood pressure. Professor Imai also received 2002 KAHOKU Culture Prize, and 2003 The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
