Assistant Professor Masahiro Kikuya at Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku University was awarded Young Investor's Award by The Japan Society of Hypertension
The 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting of The Japan Society of Hypertension was held at Otsu Prince Hotel, Otsu, Shiga pref. through October 1 to October 3, 2009. Assistant Professor Masahiro Kikuya at Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku University was awarded Young Investor’s Award. The reason to be awarded is his presentation, “Day-by-Day Variability of Blood Pressure and Heart Rate at Home as a Novel Predictor of Prognosis: the Ohasama Study.” The research has been conducted as a cohort study of people in Ohasama, Hanamaki, Iwate pref., and shows that prognosis worsens when day-by-day variability of blood pressure and heart rate increases.
