2009 Japan Student Services Organization's Student of the Year

 T. Naganuma, a 6th-year student at Tohoku University School of Medicine, was awarded 2009 Academic Grand Prize by Japan Student Services Organization. The reason to be awarded is his researches such as “Green tea consumption and hematologic malignancies in Japan: the Ohsaki Study,” “Coffee consumption and the risk of oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal cancers in Japan: the Miyagi Cohort Study,” and “Coffee consumption and the risk of colorectal cancer: a prospective cohort study in Japan.”

 

 Japan Student Services Organization has given awards by donations to students who have financial difficulties to continue their studies. The project aims to encourage and support students whose achievements are outstanding in the following fields: academic achievement, culture and art, sports and social contribution. The organization also tries to nurture promising human resources.
