Associate Professor Yuko Nishide at Graduate School of Economics and Management, Tohoku University has received the 8th Outstanding Research Award from Japan NPO Research Association. The prize is given to researchers for their outstanding works based on researches in connection with NPO, NGO and volunteer activities.

 In her work  “Social Capital and Civil Society in Japan,” Associate Ｐrofessor Nishide has described the relation between social capital, including Japan’s trust, standards, and networks, and civil society from the perspective of NPO and communities.
