Professor Seiji Samukawa received 2010 STARC Joint Research Prize

A research theme of Professor Seiji Samukawa at Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University was selected as STARC Joint Research Prize.

The Semiconductor Technology Academic Research Center (STARC) is a consortium consisting of 10 semiconductor device manufacturers, and has sought joint research themes with universities in order to strengthen semiconductor technologies and advanced technology competitiveness, to establish an effective relationship between the industry and universities, to produce original and expansive research results and to support raising young enthusiastic researchers who are interested in silicone semiconductor technologies.  STARC selects about 20 beneficial and outstanding themes for future semiconductors in Japan every year through a rigorous screening to conduct three-year-research projects.  Joint Research Prize is given to each theme from Process/Device and System/Circuits areas for its significant contribution.

The presentation ceremony was held at 2010 STARC Forum/Symposium in Shin Yokohama Kokusai Hotel on August 26, 2010.
