Youthful Essay - Winners of the 4th Abe Jiro Memorial Prize selected-

 Abe Jiro (1883 - 1959) is a representative thinker of Tohoku University, and his book “Santaro’s Diary” has been popular as a must-read book for younger generations since published in 1914.  This prize was established at the 100th anniversary of Tohoku University to commemorate Abe’s philosophy to face up to self contradiction by the spirit to love the truth and to pursue his identity and the Japanese culture through his life.  It is awarded to outstanding essays written by high-school students.  Winners of the year 2010 were selected as below.
