Japan Student Services Organization has given awards to students who have financial difficulties to continue their studies.  The project is supported by donations, and aims to encourage and support students for their outstanding achievements in the following fields: academic achievement, culture and art, sports and social contribution.  The organization also tries to nurture promising human resources.
  

Three 6th-year students at Tohoku University School of Medicine received the Academic Grand Prize, Outstanding Performance Prize and Incentive Prize, respectively.
