Metabolomics data reveal a crucial role of cytosolic glutamine synthetase 1;1 in coordinating metabolic balance in rice

Dr. Kusano at Plant Science Center, RIKEN and Drs. Tabuchi and Yamaya at Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Tohoku University, discovered that glutamine synthethase1;1 is important in maintaining well-balanced relations between nitrogen and carbon metabolisms in rice plants, together with its function on the primary assimilation of ammonium ions. This result will be published in "The Plant Journal" on the 21st of February, 2011.
