Visitation of City University of Hong Kong President Way Kuo
City University of Hong Kong President Way Kuo visited Executive Vice-President Nemoto on April 21 (Thu) to discuss the possibilities for research and educational exchange between Tohoku University and City University of Hong Kong. Vice-President Kijima and Kamiguchi, Director of Education and Student Support Department , also attended this meeting. Following the meeting, President Way Kuo visited the Cyclotron and Radioisotope Center, WPI-AIMR, and the Institute for Materials Research.
City University of Hong Kong was founded in 1984 as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong and acquired university status in 1994. It is currently composed of 7 colleges/schools - (1)Business, (2)Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, (3)Science and Engineering, (4)Creative Media, (5)Energy and Environment, (6)Law, (7)Graduate Studies – and boasts around 18,000 students and a full-time teaching staff of approximately 900.
While an academic exchange agreement has not yet been established between Tohoku University and City University of Hong Kong, it is hoped that President Way Kuo’s visit will further promote close cooperation between our institutions.
