Professor Hideo Ohno at Tohoku University has been chosen as a 2011 Thomson Reuters Citation Laureate on September 21, 2011. He was awarded for contributions to ferromagnetism in diluted magnetic semiconductors.

 Thomson Reuters Citation Laureates are selected as the likely candidates for the Nobel Prize based on the citation impact of their published research.
