Yoshida Laboratory, Graduate School of Economics and Management, Tohoku University has recalculated and released the total fertility rate (2000-2010) among 47 prefectures to determine it more accurately. The total fertility rate published by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has been pointed out that we cannot compare the figures of the years in which national census was carried out and not carried out. According to the recalculation, the total fertility rate has turned out to greatly decrease in 2005 among all prefectures, but showed V-shaped recovery in 2006.
