Professor Emeritus Mitsuo Kira has received 2012 Frederic Stanley Kipping Award. The reason to be awarded is his achievements on synthesis, isolation and investigation of Trisilaallene. The award was established in 1960 by American Chemical Society and is given to researchers who have made outstanding contributions in Silicon Chemistry. He became the second recipient of the award in Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University, after Professor Emeritus Hideki Sakurai. The award ceremony will be held at San Diego in March 27, 2012.
