A research group led by Professor Kazushi Ishiyama at Research Institute of Electrical Communication, Tohoku University has developed a novel small pump. Since this pump is small-sized, works wirelessly and has a pumping capability as much as the human heart, it will be expected to pave the way to the development of the fully embedded ventricular assist device (artificial heart).
