Tohoku University has started a collaborative research project on a new drug delivery system for retinal degeneration using Unoprostone with R-Tech Ueno, Limited.
Tohoku University and R-Tech Ueno have entered into collaborative study to develop a sustained drug delivery system device (Patent Pending: International Publication Number WO2011/021594) developed by a research group led by Professor Toshiaki Abe of United Centers for Advanced Research and Translational Medicine, Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine and utilizing R-Tech Ueno compound Isopropyl Unoprostone. The system aimed to rescue retinal degeneration such as retinitis pigmentosa.
