The research group headed by Professor Masataka Nakazawa of Research Institute of Electrical Communication, Tohoku University has invented a new optical pulse named "Optical Nyquist Pulse" and succeeded in significant improvement in the transmission efficiency in ultrahigh-speed optical transmission for the first time.
