Associate Professor Hiroki Takakura of the Center for Northeast Asian Studies wins the 2nd Annual 2012 The Japan Consortium for Area Studies Award for Research Project
The Japan Consortium for Area Studies was established as an interdisciplinary organizational collaboration consisting of over 90 universities, research institutes, academic societies, and private organizations with area studies. The intent of the collaboration is to integrate arts, social sciences and natural science to further area studies without limits of borders or local regions.
Associate Professor Hiroki Takakura, Northeast Asian Research Center, has been awarded the 2nd Area Studies Award for Research Project for his monograph on the Siberian anthropology and contributions to area studies. The award ceremony was held at The Japan Consortium for Area Studies annual meeting held at Hokkaido University on November 3, 2012.
