Tohoku University student team won the Grand Prize and first place in the three categories in BIOMOD
In the 2nd International Bio-molecular Design (BIOMOD) Competition held November 4, 2012, Tohoku University student team has won the Grand Prize and the first place in the Best Presentation Category, Best YouTube Video Category and Audience Favorite Category.
BIOMOD Competition hosted by Wyss Institute at Harvard University is an international competition for students in which they design biomolecules with novel functionalities such as molecular robots in nanometer-scale. 19 teams from 7 countries have competed in showing their movies and making their presentations of their achievements. 6 Japanese teams from Tohoku University, Tokyo University, Tokyo Institute of Technology and Kansai University have entered the competition, supported by Molecular Robotics Research Group and Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas "Molecular Robotics".
