There are two types of facilities to be used for extracurricular activities; some facilities such as rooms and a practice ground are used exclusively for extracurricular activities. Others such as the classrooms and Kawauchi Gymnasium are available during non-lecture hours.

For the use of these facilities, please complete the necessary procedures in advance.

1 Facility for Extracurricular Activity

For extracurricular activities, there are extracurricular facilities and practice grounds in Kawauchi-Kita and Katahira areas.

7 Kawauchi-Kita Area

The Extracurricular Activity Joint-Use Facility in the Kawauchi-Kita Area is available based on the Rules and its Detailed Regulations of Kawauchi Area Extracurricular Joint Facility Management and Operation. The Kawauchi Hall and Extracurricular Activity Rooms are available as a practice ground.

7 Katahira Area

The Extracurricular Activity Facilities in the Katahira Area are available based on the Rules of the Tohoku University Extracurricular Facility Usage.

7 Other Areas

Some academic departments might have facilities available for extracurricular activities within the department.

For use, consult with the instruction section counter in each department.

2 Physical Educational Facilities for Extracurricular Activities

7 Kawauchi-Kita Area

The facilities in the Kawauchi-Kita Area are usually used for PE classes but are available for extracurricular activities if they do not affect the classes.
To use the facility, you must check in at a counter of the Kawauchi-Kita Area office in the gym.
Also, during the summer, students are permitted to use our swimming pool. Information related to the dates and hours of the pool use will be announced on relevant bulletin boards.
In addition, refer to the Kawauchi-Kita Indoor and Outdoor Facility Usage Guide and Procedures in the Students Life Guide for related conditions and notes.

7 Katahira and Other Areas

There are other PE and camping facilities in Katahira, Tomizawa, Hyojogawara, Miyagi Zao, and Yamagata Zao. These facilities are mainly used for extracurricular activities.
For their use, although priority is given to the Students Friendship Association groups, regular students, faculty and staff members are permitted to use them if they do not affect the priority use.
To use the facility, procedures must be followed in the Student Affairs Section, Student Services Division as follows.
(1) For groups affiliated with the Students Friendship Association, reservations are accepted two months in advance from the date of use
(2) For regular students, faculty and staff members, reservations can be made one month in advance from the date of use

7 Other Areas

Some academic departments may have P.E. facilities for its extracurricular activities. To use them, consult with the instruction section counter.

3 Classrooms in Kawauchi-Kita Campus

Classrooms are used for lectures, but if they are not in used for the lecture, they can be used for extracurricular activities under certain conditions.
To use these facilities, submit a designated application for permission at #8 counter of the 2nd floor of the Administration Building of Kawauchi-Kita Campus.
