The Health Administration Center conducts businesses to maintain students health and promote healthy life while giving a variety of consultations concerning health.
In addition to the main office on Kawauchi-Kita Campus, Health Administration Center has branch Health care rooms on the Katahira, Medical/Dental School, Engineering, and Agriculture campuses, where we provide health consultation and medical services.
1. Annual medical checkup
We conduct health examinations for all students once a year in May. For first year students, the medical checkup is given in early April before the Commencement. To detect early stages of illness, make sure that you have an examination.
2. Special Health Examination
For students using X-rays, organic solvents, and video display terminals, we provide special health examinations to detect health problems. In addition, we provide tuberculosis tests (skin test), and recommend that you have one. Dates of these examinations are announced in each department accordingly.
Also, students on sport teams are given a special health examination before attending games. For more information, contact the Health Administration Center.

4. Health Consultation
Apply to a nearby health care facility irrespective of your academic affiliation.
However, health consultations and examinations by the School Medical Doctors are given by each medical facility as follows.
(Closed dates are announced on bulletin boards accordingly.)

5. Care for Injuries by Accidents
When an accident occurs, contact the Health Administration Center and healthcare rooms to receive treatment.
For accidents that occur during lectures, patients can receive treatment at the Tohoku University Hospital at the expense of the University (requires a letter of permission from the heads of an academic departments or Education Director). Ask at the instruction section counter at each department.

6. Issuing Medical Examination Forms
Medical Examination Forms required for work, study, and scholarship are issued at the Health Administration Center. It can be issued within the same day. Requests by phone are not accepted. If the requesting party designates the issuing organization or if there are specialized tests required in the form, we may not issue the forms. In addition, for the students who did not take the regular health examination, we cannot issue the forms.
If you need a health examination form prior to the dates of annual medical checkup for such purposes as applying for a scholarship, or if you can not take the examination because of teaching practice, suspension and other reasons, we might administer a special examination. Ask the Health Administration Center.

7. Dietary Consultation
Are you satisfied with your dietary habits? Have you wondered what and how much you should eat? Are you worried because eating is not enjoyable or because you are gaining weight recently?

8. Reference to Medical Institutions
In addition to the Health Administration Center, Tohoku University has the University Hospital. The Center and its branch offices issue reference letters if necessary. However, there will be a charge for the initial visit added because the Tohoku University Hospital is designated as a hospital using advanced technologies.
In addition, to use these medical institutions, make sure you bring your Health Insurance Card. The Health Administration Center conducts various activities related to health aiming to maintain and increase good health conditions of the students.
