International Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction and Education

The global pandemic was a grim reminder of the importance of proper disaster preparation in order to minimize damage and maximize survival. How can we prepare for the next big disaster?

This workshop is an opportunity to bring researchers, educators, and higher education stakeholders together to share experiences and exchange ideas on how we can educate others about risk reduction strategies. The workshop will explain the global initiatives of UNESCO and other stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region, to promote education for disaster risk reduction. Moreover, the workshop is expected to result in a roadmap for universities in this region, to establish a joint course on disaster literacy in the coming years. To be a part of this plan for the future, we hope you can attend either online or in person.
