Successful candidates will be engaged in research and education in German linguistics or literature and related fields, as well as other duties within the University.

Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements:

• hold a doctoral degree;
• be able to teach classes, supervise students, and carry out administrative duties in Japanese; and
• understand the significance of education and research in German literature and linguistics, as well as the activities of academic societies in the Tohoku region, and be willing to actively contribute to these areas.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit the following documents:

1. Curriculum vitae (an email address must be included)
2. List of research achievements (books, research papers, presentations, and other academic contributions)
3. Five major research works, together with summaries of approximately 400 Japanese characters each.
4. A summary of the applicant's relevant experience demonstrating how they meet all the requirements, along with a statement of their aspirations for research and teaching (approximately 1,000 Japanese characters).

All application materials must be submitted electronically in PDF format via JREC-IN.

Research works that cannot be submitted in PDF format, such as books, should be sent separately by registered or simplified registered mail to the Office for General Affairs, Graduate School/Faculty of Arts and Letters, Tohoku University.
