The Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at Tohoku University seeks to appoint an associate professor or lecturer to its Division of Regenerative and Biomedical Engineering.
The successful candidate will be tasked with developing research in interdisciplinary fields such as histology, molecular biology, pathology, stem cell engineering, and fluid dynamics.
Using current-edge biotechnologies such as gene editing, iPS cells, and small RNA analysis, they will also be expected to shed further light on in vivo signaling and the pathology of various diseases. It is hoped that their research will lead to the development of artificial organs and artificial blood vessels that restore function at the cell and tissue level, as well as new treatment methods.
