Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct advanced research, provide education, and contribute to the administration of the department. Areas of responsibility include nuclear chemistry, nuclear fuel engineering, nuclear back-end engineering, the nuclear fuel cycle, and radiochemistry.

  1. Two letters of recommendation, which must be sent directly by the recommenders to: head-qsegrp.tohoku.ac.jp.
  2. Curriculum Vitae, including a recent photo. The educational background section should begin from high school onward.
  3. List of research achievements, including peer-reviewed papers, invited talks, international conference presentations, patents, books, reviews, and awards. Please also include research performance indices such as total citation count, h-index (specify the database used), and, if available, FWCI (Field-Weighted Citation Impact) and Top 10% paper ratio.
  4. List of educational achievements, detailing lectures given in the past three years (include course title, number of instructional hours, and student grade level), as well as a list of thesis titles supervised by the applicant.
  5. Five primary research papers, accompanied by their citation numbers.
  6. Other relevant accomplishments that demonstrate the applicant's excellence, such as competitive research grants, conference organization, and academic service activities.
  7. Summary of research activities (approximately 1,000 words), with a clear explanation of the applicant's excellence from an international perspective.
  8. Statement of aspirations for research and education (approximately 1,000 words).
  9. Contact information for two references, including their names, institutional affiliations, position titles, telephone numbers, and email addresses.
