On December 24, a Tohoku University staff member tested positive for the coronavirus.

Tohoku University Co-op also reported that one of the personnel who was working at Aobayama Co-op Restaurant in Aobayama North Campus has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Aobayama Co-op Restaurant will remain closed.

Tohoku University will continue to take precautionary measures and make appropriate information available. In the meantime, it asks that the privacy of the affected people be respected.
