On November 25, a delegation from National Taipei University of Technology visited Tohoku University. National Taipei University of Technology's President, Sea-Fue Wang, joined President Hideo Ohno in signing a new university-level academic exchange agreement.

Tohoku University and National Taipei University of Technology have conducted exchanges mainly in the field of materials science. In 2018, the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials and National Taipei University of Technology signed a department-level agreement, holding a kick-off symposium in Taiwan.

Professor An-Pang Tsia of the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials, who sadly passed away on May 25, and President Wang have played a leading role in establishing a trusting relationship between the two universities, leading to the proliferation of exchanges. The signing ceremony was held in conjunction with a symposium and memorial to honor Professor An-Pang Tsai on November 25 and 26.

At the signing ceremony, President Hideo Ohno said, "We are grateful for all you achieved, and I am convinced that in the future, our two universities' professors will carry on Professor Tsai's work and will develop meaningful exchanges."

The group who attended the signing ceremony then proceeded to attend the memorial ceremony in honor of Professor An-Pang Tsai.
