University Receives Bomb Threat, Advices Caution

Tohoku University has received an email claiming that bombs have been planted on campus that are set to explode at noon on May 27.

It has been learned that similar bomb threats have been made to several other universities, and that the threats are not limited to Tohoku University.

The safety of students, faculty, staff, and other related personnel, as well as residents in the neighborhood, remains a priority, and the university is cooperating with the police to strengthen vigilance and security on all our campuses.

Anyone who sees a suspicious person or unaccompanied package on campus - or in the vicinity - please notify the following division immediately.
