To temper the rising number of new COVID-19 cases in Miyagi, a state of emergency was recently declared in the prefecture. As the situation continues to be unpredictable, Tohoku University has decided to postpone the 2021 Entrance Ceremony that was originally scheduled for April 2.
Because the entrance ceremony marks an important milestone for students, all effort will be made to re-organise an event that is both meaningful and safe for everyone involved.
More information about the rescheduled ceremony will be announced soon. Until then, students are reminded that:
• Orientation will be conducted by each faculty and department from April 5 - 9.
• Mandatory health checks for new students will be on April 1, 5 and 6.
• Classes for the new semester are scheduled to start on April 12
