Results are in for Tohoku University's Spring 2023 Giving Campaign, which was held from June 19 - 25 to support the activities of student organizations.

This year, the online charity event featured 99 student clubs and circles, each vying for votes in order to receive extra funding for their activities from the campaign sponsors.

The Tohoku University Rowing Club received the most support, with 7.64 percent of the 26,670 votes cast.

Top Five Groups in the Spring 2023 Giving Campaign:

Total number of votes cast: 26,670

• 1st: Tohoku University Rowing Club (7.64%)
• 2nd: Tohoku University Festival Committee (7.49%)
• 3rd: Street Dance Circle WHO (5.17%)
• 4th: Landau and Lifshitz's "Theoretical Physics" Translation Project (4.84%)
• 5th: Ice Hockey Section, Tohoku University Skating Club (4.61%)

The Giving Campaign was started in 2022 to expand the university's network of supporters and foster a culture of giving. Managed by the Tohoku University Fund through Alumnote Inc., the campaign channels sponsorship money collected from companies nationwide into Tohoku University-related organisations that promote student activities such as clubs and circles.

During each campaign period, students, alumni and members of the public are encouraged to vote for the club or circle that they think deserves extra funding. Supporters can also send messages of encouragement or use the donation function on the voting page to donate an amount to a specific club.
