Projects Supported by the 2019 Tohoku University-Tsinghua University Joint Research Fund

In December 2018, Tsinghua University and Tohoku University entered into a university-level Collaboration Agreement and together established a joint research fund to promote and encourage collaborative research between faculty members at the two universities.

Based on this agreement, Tohoku University appealed to faculty members to submit proposals for collaborative research projects in the three fields of materials science, spintronics and disaster science.

As a result of a joint review carried out by the two universities, the following six joint research projects (four in materials science, one in spintronics, one in disaster science) have been approved.

This fund, which will provide financial support for two years beginning in April 2019, is expected to lead to the further development of collaborative research between the two universities.
