The Genron NPO Tokyo Conference 2021

The Genron NPO is holding its Tokyo Conference 2021 online, on March 22 and 23.

With the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, recent Sino-US tensions and global economic downturn, this year's conference looks at the importance of international cooperation. There will be themed sessions and panel discussions with experts, including former heads of state and participants from 10 of the world's top think tanks.

Hiroshi Oshitani, Professor of Virology at Tohoku University's Graduate School of Medicine, will speak on Day 2, in a session that aims to answer the question "Why did the world mishandle its response to the coronavirus crisis?"

Oshitani will be joined by Jennifer Nuzzo of Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security; David Heymann, the former assistant director-general for health security and environment at the World Health Organization; and moderator Yasushi Kudo, who is the president of The Genron NPO Japan.
