A Chance to Talk to President Ohno About Tohoku University (a Japanese Language Event)

There have been many changes to student life at Tohoku University since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. With classes moving online and activities restricted last year, some anxiety among students was to be expected.

So student peer support group Pompadour is organizing an online talk with University President Hideo Ohno, to discuss the current situation on campus and his plans for the university going forward.

The event will give students the rare opportunity to raise questions and concerns directly to the president. While President Ohno will also share his thoughts on how students can contribute to making Tohoku University more dynamic and inclusive.

There are two ways to participate in this event - as a regular audience member or as a speaker. Speakers will be included in discussions. To be approved as a speaker, interested students must apply early and be interviewed by the event organisers.

Please note that this event will be held in Japanese. Questions to the president will be collected in advance (in the registration form) and can be in either Japanese or English.
