I KNOW HER: Screening of "The Most Dangerous Year"

The Nonprofit Organization Laboratory is hosting an online event called "I KNOW HER" - a screening of the documentary film "The Most Dangerous Year" followed by an in-depth discussion of transgender, LGBTQ+, SOGI, human and civil rights issues.

"The Most Dangerous Year" refers to 2016, when a wave of discriminatory anti-transgender legislation swept across the United States. The film follows a group of families who, along with civil rights activists and ally lawmakers, fought to protect the future of their transgender children.

The movie will be screened in English with Japanese subtitles, and there will be a special message from the director of the film. The discussion afterwards will be held in Japanese. Tohoku University members who are interested in learning more - or contributing to the conversation - about transgender, LGBTQ+ and SOGI issues are welcome.

Date and Time: December 7 (Tues), 1 - 5 p.m.
