Events

Every two years, Tohoku University's Katahira Matsuri opens its doors to the public to share the wonder of science! This popular outreach event will be held for the 12th time on October 9, and is aimed at school-age children, as well as the young at heart.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's event will be held online, live on YouTube. Eleven world-class research institutes / centres and the famous Tohoku University Archives will give viewers a chance to look around their facilities, join virtual workshops and maybe even see some live experiments.

Please note that this event is entirely in Japanese, but anyone who is interested is welcome to tune in. Registration is not required.
