Events

Tohoku University will open its campuses for two days at the end of July, to give anyone who is interested, the chance to see what academic life here is like.

Prospective students will learn more about university courses, the application process, student support and careers.

*Please note that the majority of events are hosted in Japanese only.

This is a comprehensive, two-hour campus tour of various departments.
*Registration is limited to the first 80 people. Tickets for the tour will be distributed at the Information Center from 9am. (map)

・Campus Tour (Japanese only)
This tour takes a look at various schools and laboratories.
*Registration at the Information Center starts from 9am - 12:30pm.

School / Graduate School of Engineering (map)

・Open Lecture on Rocks for Kids: (map) (Japanese only, suitable for elementary and junior high students)
This hands-on lecture will give kids the chance to learn more about rocks. Participants will be allowed to cut open samples to observe their inner contents.
*Registration required here. Limited to 10 participants.

・Experience Being a Doctor: AED Practice(map) (90 min)
Take this unique opportunity to experience what it's like to perform laparoscopic surgery, stich external wounds, do a chest x-ray and a blood pressure test.

・CPR and Emergency Experience (map) (90 min)
Have you ever wondered what you would do if somebody suddenly collapsed before your eyes? Students will explain how to perform CPR before allowing you to practice on dummies.
*Registration required. A limited amount of tickets will be distributed at the Information Center at 9am / 12pm.

School/ Graduate School of Dentistry (map)

・Campus Tour:
Take a look at Sim-Loid, a talking robot, along with CAD/CAM Systems.

・Student Talk: Graduate School of Dentistry Clinical Dental Science Building C01 (map)
Talk with current students about their experiences in the Graduate School of Dentistry. International Students will also be in attendance.
