A joint international conference on materials science and research will be taking place at Tohoku University's Institute for Materials Research (IMR) from November 27 - 29.
The Summit of Materials Science (SMS) will conjoin with the Global Insitute for Materials Research Tohoku (GIMRT) User Meeting for the joint conference.
Organized by IMR, SMS 2019 is the fourth international conference to take place.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) certified the IMR as an "International Joint Usage/ Research Center" in 2018. IMR gave the project its GIMRT name, and its first User Meeting will coincide with SMS 2019.
The SMS 2019 and GIMRT User Meeting 2019 is a three-day event featuring presentations on spintronics and electronics: nuclear engineering; and structural materials, among others. Tohoku University President, Hideo Ohno, and a representative from the MEXT will give the opening addresses
