Tohoku University's Institute for Materials Research (IMR) will host the 2026 Summit of Materials Science (SMS) from November 24 - 26.

The summit will cover a variety of topics and feature lectures by researchers who work at the forefront of materials science. There will also be a poster session.

This event will also serve as a user meeting of the Global Institute for Materials Research Tohoku (GIMRT) project, which has been designated by MEXT since 2018. GIMRT's vision is to share the advanced research platform of IMR with global researchers to bring advances in materials science through international collaboration.
