The Institute for Materials Research (IMR) at Tohoku University is recruiting for the following position.

Position

Title:	Assistant Professor

Term of Employment:	Full-time, non-tenured until June 30, 2030 (with a possibility of renewal)
*Location:	Collaborative Research Center on Energy Materials Satellite Office (Prof. Akitoshi Hayashi Lab),1-1 Gakuen-cho, Naka-ku, Sakai, Osaka 599-8531, Japan
Start Date:	As soon as possible after selection

*The position is with the Collaborative Research Center on Energy Materials, Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University; however, the work location will be the center's satellite office at Osaka Metropolitan University.

Job Description

IMR is seeking researchers to develop functional solid-state materials that contribute to the energy storage field, leveraging computational science methods based on inorganic materials chemistry and inorganic solid-state chemistry.

Successful candidates will collaborate with Professor Akitoshi Hayashi, focusing on evaluating the physical properties and structures of battery materials using computational science.

Qualifications

Applicant must hold a Ph.D. degree, or must be expected to receive a Ph.D. degree before employment.
