The Institute for Fluid Science at Tohoku University is seeking to hire a Research Fellow.
The position is funded by the NEDO project P20010, entitled 'Towards Ideal Aircraft-Structure Design with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastics (CFRTPs).' The overarching goal of the project is to develop cutting-edge simulation tools tailored for the aeroelastic and structural design aspects of CFRTP aircraft, encompassing various domains including structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, fracture mechanics of CFRP and CFRTP, as well as optimization techniques for aircraft design.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Researching and developing aeroelastic/structural design tools for CFRP/CFRTP aircraft
- Publishing research articles and maintaining simulation tools
- Assisting and informally co-advising one or two graduate students in the same group
