In attendance from the TMU side were President Mai-Szu Wu, Vice Preident Pei-Shan Tsai, and personnel in charge of international affairs. Also accompanying them were the deans from TMU's five colleges party to a bilateral university-level exchange agreement with Tohoku University: the College of Nutrition, College of Medicine, College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Oral Medicine, and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The Tohoku University side included Executive Vice President Toshiya Ueki, Vice President and Chief Global Officer Marie-Pierre Favre and deans and directors from Agricultural Science, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dentistry, Arts and Letters, and the Institute of Development, Aging and Cancer.

The morning saw a leadership meeting held at Katahira Campus, where both sides discussed future partnerships. In the afternoon, five joint symposia were held simultaneously at Katahira, Seiryo, and Kawauchi campuses, where animated discussions took place.

The symposium is expected to further the already strong partnership between Tohoku University and TMU, with even more interdisciplinary and more robust international joint research and personnel exchanges anticipated in the future.
