Announcement: Changes to University Schedule

In difficult and uncertain times, there is comfort in structure and routine. Students are encouraged to get ready for the semester by setting up a schedule to manage each day so as not to miss important classes and assigments.

The recent shift to Level 3 of the Emergency Action Plan (BCP) has forced significant changes to the university schedule for the spring semester. Here's the latest information:

Getting Connected:

All orientation sessions and classes scheduled for April will be conducted online. Students should attend them remotely from home, and avoid non-essential outings.

For instructions on how to set up campus email and wifi, or how to access classes online, please visit our IT Site.

Note (April 17): designated facilities on Kawauchi campus are now closed until further notice.

General Education Classes:

Trial and practice online classes will take place from April 20 to May 6. General Education classes will be conducted while computer settings are confirmed and registration/enrollee numbers adjusted. So during this period, students should remotely attend the classes they wish to take. Online classes will officially start on May 7.

Specialised Courses and Seminars:

Information on Specialized Courses can be found on the relevant faculty/graduate school's website.

Small-group seminars have been suspended, and online classes conducted instead. Detailed information will be available on the General Education website soon.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) has been further delayed until further notice.

The situation surrounding COVID-19 is changing daily, and the university will reassess its response as needed.

In the meantime, students are reminded that in addition to the General Education website, they should also check the university's official sites (English / Japanese) and socials (FB, Twitter, Linkedin, Insta) regularly for important announcements and updates.
