Art Garfunkel is perhaps best known as one half of folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. In a Grammy Award winning partnership that spanned over a decade, the pair had such hits as Mrs. Robinson, Scarborough Fair and Bridge Over Troubled Water.
In 1990, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Since launching a solo career in 1971, Garfunkel has had numerous hits of his own. As a poet, he has also undertaken several long-distance walks, including a three-week hike across the backroads of Japan in 1982.
This November Garfunkel returns to Japan for a concert tour and will perform in Sendai at Tohoku University's Kawauchi Hagi Hall.
